In the NIMCET-2024 test, candidates will face a single paper divided into three parts, presented sequentially. They must complete each part before moving on to the next:

Part-I: Mathematics (70 minutes, 50 questions)

Part-II: Analytical ability and logical reasoning (30 minutes, 40 questions)

Part-III: Computer Awareness and English (20 minutes, 30 questions)

Each correctly answered question will be awarded full marks, while each wrongly answered question will result in a 25% negative mark. The test is conducted solely in English, and candidates are required to finish each section within the allocated time frame, as movement between sections is not permitted.

The distribution of time assigned, questions and marks is as follows:

·         Exam Difficulty: The difficulty level of the exam influences cut-off marks.

·         Number of Candidates: Higher competition may lead to increased cut-off scores.

·         Seat Availability: Limited seats can result in higher cut-offs.

·         Candidate Performance: Overall performance determines cut-off marks.

Note: NIT releases results in rank format.

Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in NIMCET. For each incorrect answer, one-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted to the question are deducted as penalty.
Candidates can prepare for NIMCET by referring to the official syllabus, practicing previous years' question papers, taking mock tests, and joining coaching institutes for guidance and preparation tips.
The NIMCET exam is conducted in online mode at designated exam centers across India. Candidates are required to appear for the exam on the specified date and time, as mentioned in the admit card.

·         To apply for NIMCET, candidates should visit the official website:

https://nimcet.admissions.nic.in/, as per the NIMCET 2024 notification.

·         The application process typically commences around the 1st week of March each year.

·         Candidates are advised to fill out the online application form during the specified application period.

·         The NIMCET exam is generally conducted in the 1st or 2nd week of June.

·         It's essential to stay updated with the official NIMCET notification or website for the latest information regarding the application process and exam dates, as these details may be subject to change.

The NIMCET 2024 exam was conducted by NIT Jamshedpur.

·         The online counseling for admission to the MCA program in NITs consists of four rounds, including one special round.

·         All counseling activities, including document verification, are conducted online.

·         Candidates are not required to visit any institution for counseling.

·         The entire process, including document verification, is facilitated through online means for   the convenience of the candidates.

·         In the context of NIMCET, "opening rank" refers to the rank of the first candidate who   secured admission to a particular National Institute of Technology (NIT) through NIMCET.

·         Conversely, "closing rank" signifies the rank of the last candidate who secured admission to the same NIT through NIMCET.

·         These ranks are indicative of the range of ranks within which candidates were admitted to a specific NIT for the MCA program through NIMCET.

The approximate rank range required for admission to NITs through the NIMCET exam typically varies between 450 to 700 ranks, considering different categories of applicants. However, actual rank requirements may vary based on factors such as exam difficulty, number of candidates, and seat availability. Candidates are advised to refer to previous years' cutoff ranks and official notifications for accurate information.
